Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.
The substance had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then located many other marked cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.
Police report initial examinations show the substance was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no clue as to its origin; authorities are currently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the community for tips.
A senior representative commented the vandalism left him stunned and needed to be solved promptly.
"This event hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the killing of nine people by a gunman focusing on individuals of migrant background in 2020.
